"The Greatest Obstacle" (最大の壁, Saidai no Kabe, Tonari: 196) is the one hundred fifty-sixth chapter of the One-Punch Man manga series.
Short Summary
Homeless Emperor assaults Iaian, Spring Mustachio, and Atomic Samurai. Atomic Samurai ultimately unsheathes the Sun Blade and wields it with great effect, overpowering the two cadres. Exhausted, he can no longer continue, and Evil Natural Water reappears. Just then, King arrives, ready to face the powerful foes.
Long Summary
Homeless Emperor unleashes a blazing torrent of energy spheres upon Iaian, Spring Mustachio, and Atomic Samurai. The two A-Class heroes gradually find themselves overwhelmed, while Atomic Samurai struggles to unsheathe his new weapon, the Sun Blade. He remembers his conversation with Nichirin, who explained that the Sun Blade is a telepathic weapon, drawn only by those it deems worthy. Focusing intently, Atomic Samurai's mind becomes a calm, reflective surface, silencing even the loudest distractions. At last, the Sun Blade responds to his call.
Empowered by the blade, Atomic Samurai leaps into the air, slicing through Homeless Emperor's massive energy sphere. Surprised, Homeless Emperor conjures numerous energy orbs and hurls them at the swordsman, but they prove ineffective against the Sun Blade's might. Just as Atomic Samurai is about to strike down the beleaguered foe, Golden Sperm intervenes, blocking the lethal blow. The Sun Blade only grazes Golden Sperm's incredibly durable form, yet when he tries to break it, the blade bends at impossible angles, severing half of Golden Sperm's right arm. The Sun Blade sheathes itself as Atomic Samurai regains control, utterly exhausted. Both Homeless Emperor and Golden Sperm, now aware of the blade's power, are shocked but soon recognize Atomic Samurai's inability to continue wielding it. Evil Natural Water then appears, surprising Iaian, who thought the creature had been defeated by Superalloy Darkshine. As Golden Sperm and Homeless Emperor prepare to counterattack, a rumbling sound erupts from behind them.
King appears. Black Sperm, Golden Sperm, Homeless Emperor, and Evil Natural Water brace themselves to confront the lone hero. Metal Bat arrives, initially intending to assist King, but opts to ensure no Black Sperm clones escape instead. Child Emperor and Puri-Puri Prisoner emerge from the rubble. The heroes breathe a sigh of relief at King's presence. Though King appears calm and confident, he is internally terrified and regrets attempting to save Genos, realizing that the monsters before him are powerful enough to challenge him without fear.
